![]() ![]() There are over 1 billion devices with Google assistant now built in, and thousands of hardware manufacturers who have incorporated Google's assistant into their own devices, including SONOS. Who uses Google actions? From Google shopping actions to Google home actions, anyone with a Google assistant smart speaker, Android phone, or any device with Google assistant built in can utilize actions. Just like how Amazon allows users to create Alexa skills, you can make a Google assistant app for virtually anything - from allowing customers to place orders through voice to playing interactive podcast content in the comforts of people's homes. Actions can either be built by Google or by third party developers, including yourself! There are now over 5,000 actions, and more are being created every day. For example, to format the text "info at company dot com" as an email address say "format email.Google Actions are additional apps that can be added to Google's voice assistant (called Google Assistant). Note: This command formats nearby text as an email address, if possible.Starred commands (*) work for characters, words, sentences, lines, paragraphs, or pages.If the blue border doesn't appear around a text field, say the number next to the text field. Voice Access shows a blue border around editable text fields to show that you can start typing and editing. Use these commands to type, edit, and format text with your voice. If you receive a call, you can answer it by saying "Answer call." Gesture commands If you're in an app with a search field, you can say something like "Search for " to search in that app for shoes. If you're not sure which item on your screen goes with a number, you can say "What is ?" For example, "What is 7?" Search in apps Also, if a text label is long or difficult to pronounce, saying the number might be easier. If two items on your screen have the same text label (such as two "Options" menus), you can say the number instead of the word. To select the Save button, you could say any of these commands: To show an overlay of numbers next to everything on your screen that you can interact with, say "Show numbers." If you don't know the name for something, say "Show labels" to see suggestions.įor example, you might see the number 7 next to a Save button, like this. If you say a command that could affect more than one item on the screen, Voice Access asks "Which one?" In the feedback bar at the top of your screen, Voice Access shows what it hears you say, along with responses to your commands.For example, if you see the words "store hours" with a link in a paragraph of text, you can say "Tap store hours" to tap the link.
